V.A. Kryukov is an expert on resource economy – economic problems of operation and development of mineral resource sector and socio-economic problems of developing resource-rich territories. Main results of research are embodied in over 650 publications including 54 monographs (of them 3 own and 15 under his leadership), over 70 international publications (Russian Science Citation Index - 26, WoS - 5, Researchgate - 16.9). The monograph by V.A. Kryukov “Institutional structure of oil and gas sector: problems and directions of transformation (1998) is a pioneer work in Russia in terms of studying changes of institutional structure of the mineral resource complex in current conditions.
